What is the first memory you have of riding a bike?

Riding a small purple bike with stabilisers on and a Dennis the menace sticker on the basket on the front!

How did you get involved in cycling?

I was running with a friend who had recently started doing triathlons and I wanted to try multisport, so I bought a bike and started training for duathlons. This year I have decided to stop running and focus on the bike!

What was your first race and how did it go?

My first road race was the Duncan Murray road race and I came 4th in an uphill sprint finish. I remember being both terrified and excited for the whole race!

Why do you race?

I love the physical and mental challenge of racing. The feeling of getting faster and stronger is addictive.

Where is your favourite place to ride?

Campanet, Mallorca.

What is your proudest accomplishment thus far?

3rd place in the Tour of Sussex.

Do you have any pre-race routines or lucky charms?

I have a routine the day before the race but nothing for the morning of the race.

What is your ambition for 2018?

To gain as much race experience as possible and hopefully a couple of podium finishes!

What is the race you would most love to compete in and why?

The Tour de Yorkshire because it would be amazing to race against such fantastic athletes.

What is your favourite music to listen to?

Anything and everything! My phone is full of various playlists for training and travelling!

What do you like to do when you have time at home that is not cycling?

I run a fitness company (Steels Fitness) so spend a lot of time working on that, eating my bodyweight in anything I can get my hands on and watching boxsets.
