Three of the Fusion Fierlan team (Molly Patch, Jenny Holden and Jenny Hudson) started in Holme Valley Wheelers Women's Stage Race on Friday 9th June.

The first race on Friday evening was 30 mile road race which produced no breaks except for a thinning of the field down to around 20 riders. So it was down to a bunch sprint on a narrow road with Jenny Holden taking first place, Molly 5th and Jenny Hudson 6th.

Saturday morning dawned and a 10 mile TT, Molly’s speciality, which she won and put herself in 1st place on General Classification with a 48 second lead and Jenny Hudson got 4th with 4th overall.  Jenny Holden unfortunately crashed out and was to take no further part in the race needing 45 stiches in a knee wound.

So with two riders left in the final 55 miles road race on Saturday afternoon the race again whittled down to 14 riders with Molly and Jenny sitting comfortably in the race.

Into a final uphill sprint it was Jenny who rode away to gain 2nd on the stage and Molly doing enough to protect her overall lead on GC.

Excellent weekend with two stages won, a fab overall win for Molly and well done to Jenny too.  We also wish Jenny Holden a speedy recovery.
